La Leche League Leaders operate more than 200 La Leche League Canada Groups in communities across the country. Each Group holds monthly meetings where Leaders facilitate informal, guided discussions.
Founded in 1956 by seven women who had learned about successful breastfeeding while nursing their own babies, La Leche League is the only organization with the sole purpose of helping breastfeeding mothers.

Quintessence Foundation, established in 1998, focuses on breastfeeding education to health professionals and the public through a variety of venues. Additionally the Foundation provides support to programmes having a positive effect on breastfeeding and the use of human milk. The Foundation was established by individuals who desire greater breastfeeding information and support be available to communities in British Columbia. The Foundation is a registered non profit organization.
The Infant Feeding Action Coalition (INFACT) Canada is a non-governmental, non-profit organization consisting of individuals and groups working to improve the health and well-being of infants and young children through the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding.
