Frequently Asked Questions

"How many days after the birth of my baby will my milk come in?"

Your baby will get milk at the first feeding. This early milk is called colostrum. It is golden in colour and is only produced in very small amounts. Some mothers worry that it is not enough for their babies, but it is all a healthy baby needs. Colostrum is important for a newborn because it is rich in nutrients and helps to protect the baby from illness. Frequent unrestricted feedings will build up your milk supply. After about 2-3 days you will notice that your body is producing more milk along with the colostrum. Over the next 3-10 days this transitional milk will change completely to mature milk.
